Hi guys!!!
Welcome to the first ever gift guide written by yours truly and OF COURSE it is a “last minute” gift guide given that I’m always late… so gift shopping is no exception 😉 I still have a couple things I still have to get #WHOSWITHME.
To be honest, I personally love buying gifts last minute (or on Black Friday but if I forget then my next resort is buying them last minute) and there’s a good reason for it… usually by the 23rd and the 24th, EVERYTHING is on sale including gift wrapping, cards, etc!! Nobody wants to be setting up for boxing day ON CHRISTMAS DAY so usually stores already have their sales set up beforehand (did you know this?? hehe). I went to London Drugs this morning and everything was 50% off gift wrapping.
I wanted this gift guide to be pretty gender neutral for those who are stuck on what to get. THIS MEANS… There’s a bunch of gift ideas here for THE DUDES IN OUR LIVES whether it’s your dad, brother, boyfriend, in law, dog’s uncle, dog’s uncle’s nephew, dog’s uncle’s newphew’s brother’s cat (since males are honestly the hardest to shop for -_-). Anyway… I even got some of these things for myself (lmao oops) so feel free to steal these ideas for other people as well! Also not to brag but I’m pretty proud of this list only because I really think that no matter who the heck you are, you need all of these things in your life so honestly, YOU CANNOT GO WRONG.
I’ll be sorting this list from LOWEST to HIGHEST price so you can shop this blog post by your budget (prices are in CAD).
Lost Craft Beer ($3.10 per can)
You might have already heard of me raving about this beer brand from my birthday earlier this year, but Lost Craft is truly one of the beer brands that I will always reach for, especially since I love supporting local businesses!! The best and most common feedback I get is that it’s easy to drink, and even lovable by non-beer drinkers. If people who don’t even like beer like this one, what does that tell you?!
Tile (starting at $17 CAD)
If you haven’t heard of what a Tile is, it is honestly one of the best things in my entire life because I am all over the place and super forgetful. Tile helps you track your items via Bluetooth, and if you subscribe to their membership, you can actually know where your Tile is AT ALL TIMES. If you don’t have the monthly subscription, you will know when your Tile is nearby and its last known location.
I lose things all the time around the house or forget what pocket I put my keys in, so this product is super great. What I love even most about it, is that the Tile works both ways: you can use your phone to ping the item you’re looking for AND you can use the Tile itself to ping your phone (so if you aren’t sure where your phone is, this is great). As someone who has an Apple watch and can use that to ping my phone, I can assure you that the Tile is MUCH faster AND louder (so I don’t even use my watch anymore to find things!)
There’s also a Tile for every shape and form. You can put one that is card shaped in your wallet, OR you can even put one around your keys. They also just came out with a sticker version so you can also stick it on something that doesn’t have a key hole! I’ve tried all of them and honestly, they’re amazing.
(Prices depend on which product you purchase).
JLohr Wines (starting at $23.95)
Shoutout to my previous manager Ashley Johnston who recommended this brand to me and I never went back. I want to thank her but also at the same time blame her for my lack of funds due to the EXTREME amount I have spent on J. Lohr wines at this point (pretty sure a couple of grand now…)
If you are not a red wine drinker… trust me, this brand will make you change your mind. J.Lohr originates from sunny California (yes, it’s also cheaper when you buy it there especially at Trader Joe’s).
My usual to-go J.Lohr is the Cabernet Sauvignon:
They also recently just launched two more products: the Los Osos Merlot and the Arroyo Vista Chardonnay. I have tried ALL their product offerings and honestly, none of them disappoint!! Their brand as a whole is honestly my favourite red wine brand thus far!
Google Home Mini ($29.00)
For those who are stuck on gifts… something that honestly has been a lifesaver and I use DAILY is my Google Home Mini. I LOVE my Google Home and I really cannot live a day without it LOL. I use it to set up my alarm, tell me the weather, set timers when I’m cooking, and even play me music throughout the day. I highly recommend getting this around this time because it’s usually on sale!
Away Suitcase (starts at $345 CAD)
I’m suggesting this because this is probably the PROUDEST gift I have ever gotten Lucas. After dating for 3 years and having a million occasions, you begin to run out of good ideas.
This one is on the more expensive side but if you have a higher budget, this is super worth it especially since it’s a “nice to have” but also practical!
I got him both The Bigger Carry On and The Large Suitcase both in the Navy Blue. I chose the bigger carry-on because with the additional $25 we can fit even more in there! It is still within the sizing restrictions and we haven’t had an issue at any airports (except in Europe when we took the smaller planes but because it still technically fit the restrictions, they just helped us check it in)!
I don’t even have the Away myself so this was definitely a treat for him -_-
I hope these ideas have been helpful and for y’all also shopping last minute… GET IT IT GUYS!!!
Good luck and HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Also just wanted to say thank you for all your support this year and I can’t wait for what next year will bring <3
Love,
Lisa
