Here’s a blog post dedicated to those of you who thought I couldn’t eat that much or you could eat more <3 #IMPROVINGYOUWRONG #ONCEANDFORALL
Theresa and I decided to visit Anton’s Pasta for dinner because it’s our last hangout before I fly out and also she’s never been there before! We knew there would be a line so we decided to meet there at 8pm thinking the line would be shorter than if we were to meet at 6pm. Um… yeah. It was not shorter. I don’t know if it was longer, but it sure felt like I was going to miss my flight. We waited for close to an hour and 15 minutes?? Something like that #WayTooLong. We were chatting with the sweet couple behind us and we were joking about how he should make an app because they’re regular customers 😉 (if you’re reading this, hi!!!).
During our way-too-long wait, Theresa was saying how we should both aim to finish the entire plate (because you get a pen and most importantly, bragging rights). I originally wanted to just split a plate because the last time I was there, I couldn’t even finish 1/4. But I thought it was a good idea because it was her first time and plus we could bring the leftovers home! (Last time my leftovers lasted me for 3 lunch times).
Anywho, what we ordered:
Theresa:
Fusilli Alla Toscana
chicken, mushrooms & white wine in a savory pesto cream sauce
Me:
Linguine Alle Vongole
clams in a cream, tomato or clear white wine sauce (I chose the white wine because that’s usually what I get with clams)
I’m not sure if it was because I warmed up before (I had ice-cream at Glenburn’s with Richard) I went to Anton’s or something but I was feeling pretty decent halfway through my plate. I was thinking I could actually finish this thing but when I had about 1/4 left, I was starting to feel full. To be honest, I didn’t really want to push myself anymore and was thinking of packing the rest but I was with Theresa and she gave me the best moral support anyone could ask for.
“THINK OF WHAT THAT PEN REPRESENTS”
“REMEMBER THIS IS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST AND YOU’RE ALMOST THERE”
“THINK OF ALL THE TIMES YOU WERE HUNGRY AT YOUR RES”
“EAT FOR ALL THOSE TIMES YOU COULDN’T GROCERY SHOP BECAUSE IT WAS TOO COLD IN LONDON”
Frick. When I thought about all those times at Western when I had to choose between putting my face on to go out and buy food or not cook at all (I chose to not cook cause #AintNobodyGotTimeForThat) that definitely fuelled me.
SO… CHEERS TO THE DAYS I STARVED MYSELF FOR FINALS OR ATE INSTANT NOODLES!! This one is for all of those days.
Therefore, I. Finished. My. Freaking. Plate.
Andddddd… I got my pen and my bragging rights 😉
MORAL OF THE STORY
- Do not underestimate small people. Just because we’re small doesn’t mean our stomachs are
- If you want to try this at home, bring a buddy with you that can give you true moral support by digging up what really gets you #ThanksTheresa #IKnewYouAlwaysHadMyBack
- Don’t line up at 8pm thinking the line will be shorter #ItMightBeLonger
- Don’t go on a Saturday night if you don’t want to wait
- Think of all the times you didn’t eat if you want to finish your plate of Anton’s
- Do not starve yourself before eating a lot (I mean, I ate a plate of ice cream and had a pretty big breakfast and lunch)
Hope you all enjoyed reading how I pigged out!! 😉 (And if not… well… #TooBad #MakeYourOwnBlog)
Love,
Lisa
